Experimentation with character design

I started experimenting with character designs for characters from my story, “The Armen”.      Here are drawings that I did for Aislin Krassifitch and Ichabod Maluk.

Ichabod is supposed to be a kind of rough-looking character, so I decided to draw him with scruffy sideburns.  I actually kind of like them on it.  I don’t usually draw facial hair, so I was kind of surprised!

 

I wanted to try to experiment with Aislin’s character design; I think the clips help open up her face, although I didn’t want them to completely contain her hair.   Overall, I am happy with it, and I think she might wear the look some of the time in the second story.
